Heating and cooling with geothermal heat pumps is a proven and growing solution in the US and around the world. Geothermal energy is readily accessible thermal energy just below the earth's surface. Thermal energy in the earth is abundant and renewed by the sun and earth's core. Heat pumps transfer this energy from the ground for heating buildings. The process is easily reversed, taking heat from a building to the ground for cooling (this is sometimes referred to as geoexchange.) This arrangement is a proven and highly efficient heating and cooling solution, usually requiring 50-70% less energy input than oil, gas and propane to heat or cool a given space.

In addition to a significantly lower energy bill, geothermal systems require less maintenance than the fossil fuel alternatives. Geothermal is a renewable energy source that reduces our dependence on foreign energy sources.
